In addition to the classes, this venue offers up some other surprises including live tango music played by a variety of different bands each evening, some live tango performances before the classes to inspire those new to the medium and then a night-long milonga with plenty of time to continue practicing what you have learnt whilst enjoying a little something to drink or maybe even some of their very good pizza, cooked fresh on sight.

The atmosphere in La Viruta is wonderful. The hall is very big and there is a real mixture of ages who attend. The dancing of many who frequent this venue is just mesmorising to watch and it is possible to go to this venue alone to merely enjoy what other people have to offer. Equally, the venue stays open until about 5am in the morning and therefore everyone who goes always goes for the long-hall.

After two sessions in the beginners slot, it is possible to then move up immediately to the next class and so progression can happen quickly if willing to put in the time and effort. Also, after the first class, a promotion is always made available. Normally, the entrance is 16 pesos. However, if paying for four more sessions in advance after the class, four entrance tickets can be bought for the total price of 35 pesos! A real bargain! And these entrance tickets last for two months before they expire.
