REGULAR EVENTS
PERUVIAN FOOD & DRINK NIGHT
Our Peruvian Food & Drink Nights are quite possibly the most popular event we have. On these evenings a buffet of a number of local dishes is prepared a a batch of pisco sour is made. This is a great opportunity not only to try some of the local dishes but also to meet other travellers passing through Cusco and to share your stories of exploring South America.

FILM NIGHT
About once a month we show a film that has a Latin American theme and/or setting. A number of the films we show are either docu-dramas or films with some biographical content. Below are examples of some of the films we show at the clbuhouse. If you have any ideas for films you think are worth showing let us know and we will do what we can.
PUB QUIZ
An event that has grown considerably in popularity is our Pub Quiz. We started the quizzes at the end of 2007, after the success of the event in Quito, and it has been growing in popularity since then. Recently we've had them at a popular restaurant, The Real McCoy, where everyone can enjoy some food specials and 'happy hour' drinks while playing the game.
QUECHUA CLASS
Another popular event is the Quechua Class for beginners. Quechua has been spoken in this region for centuries and was around before the rise of the Inca Empire. Even today it is still spoken by many in countries such as Peru. Bolivia and Chile. For these classes we arrange to have an experienced teacher who is a native Quechua speaker to teach the basics.
Notes are provided.
SPECIAL EVENTS
LONELY PLANET "PICK & MIX" LAUNCH EVENT
On 13 December a group of people including volunteers and staff from SAE teamed up with Proyecto Selva Inca on a chocolatada trip. This annual trip involved this team of people travelling to remote regions of the jungle to bring some Christmas cheer, around 2000 toys and lots of hot chocolate to the thousands of children who live there. Thanks to all of those who contributed to the success of the trip - whether in the form of donations (toys and money) as well as those who gave of their time to go on the trip.
CHRISTMAS LUNCH
On Monday, 24 December a number of SAE members and the staff got together to celebrate Christmas. The clubhouse closed early and we all headed down to the Real McCoy restaurant where we had a lunch with all the trimmings required for the occasion. There was turkey, stuffing, pig-in-blankets, fruit-mince-pies, trifle and a number of other extras on the menu. A good time was had by all who attended with some relaxing on the leather sofas well into the evening. Thanks to the Real McCoy owners and staff for a great time.
