Volunteering and Internships in Lima

We currently have the following internships available:

  • I) Fundraising & Development
  • II) Advertising & Marketing
  • III) Volunteer Resources Management
  • IV) Project Coordinator- Peruvian Craft/Art Exports

I) Fundraising & Development:

Research funding opportunities in the U.S. and abroad to create development strategies including the management of grant application research, proposals, materials and deadlines.

Candidate must possess the following skills:

  • Excellent persuasive written skills
  • Detail and deadline oriented
  • Have knowledge of public funding sector
  • Prior experience working with funding organizations or grant proposals highly encouraged.

II) Advertising & Marketing:

Research new markets and creates advertising, marketing, and outreach strategies for SAE volunteer program and SAE clubhouse events, packets, and newsletters.

    Candidate must possess the following skills:

  • Bilingual English & Spanish written and oral
  • Course work or experience in either marketing or advertising.
  • Detail and deadline oriented
  • Must have knowledge of Peruvian culture and customs

III) Volunteer Resources Management:

South American Explorers is seeking a dynamic internship candidate to manage Volunteer Resources for the Lima Club in Peru. The ideal candidate must possess the following skills:

  • Excellent written and oral communication abilities in English & Spanish
  • Interpersonal communication skills & incredible rapport
  • Detail and deadline oriented
  • Must have previous experience in the volunteer sector
  • Basic knowledge of computer applications
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Interest in promoting non-profit organization in South America

Primary responsibility is to expand and implement Volunteer Resources Strategy: This position entails the following duties:

  • Write feature articles on specific organizations and projects in South America.
  • Provide Web development liaison ships between Peruvian organizations and out web developer in the United States.
  • Grant writing and research to secure funding for South American Explorers Volunteer Resources.
  • Produce quarterly v-newsletter reaches volunteer organizations.
  • Research current organizations and asses volunteer needs through out provinces of Peru.
  • Recruit new organizations from all around South America to join our network.
  • Maintain contacts with Peruvian Not for Profit organizations in Lima and throughout the provinces. As well as through out South America.
  • Research volunteering market within Universities- research and create marketing publicity
  • Establish and maintain relationships with University Deans in the U.S.A. and Europe
  • Post and update all volunteer opportunities on website and keep all clubhouses up to date as well.
  • Organize volunteer events that members or volunteer organizations can participate in
  • Answer emails pertaining to volunteering in South America
  • Organize information in a coherent way in clubhouses
  • Find creative ways to help both volunteers and volunteer organizations in Peru and South America.

IV) Project Coordinator- Peruvian Craft/Art Exports

Responsibilities include:

  • Product merchandising, seek out merchandise
  • Document all items
  • Maintain relations with artisans and businesses
  • conduct marketing research with sample pieces
  • Create brochure and place on web- or send to SAE Ithaca for posting.
  • Handle customer requests
  • Process sales
