US Citizens - Bolivian Visa Requirements

A talking point among travellers in South America during 2007 was the proposed changes to the entry requirements for American travellers heading to Bolivia. It was previously announced that it would be implemented from 1 January 2007, but was delayed until 1 December. Since then there has been some confusion regarding the requirements so here are the exact requirements as requested on the Peru/Bolivia border:

  1. The form “Declaración Jurada de Solicitud de Visa“ (available to fill out at the border).
  2. Valid Passport
  3. Photocopy of round-trip ticket and/travel iteinerary
  4. Proof of economic solvency (i.e. credit card)
  5. International certification card of Yellow Fever vaccination
  6. Payment of US$100 for the issue of the visa
