Gay-owned and operated, this guest house is located in the residential neighborhood of Belgrano, about a 15-minute subway ride from the city center. It is close to the trendy residential neighborhood of Palermo as well as the tourist-frequented neighborhood of Recoleta. Permanent and temporary art exhibits can be found decorating its walls at all times of the year.
The guest house accepts only cash or travelers checks as payment. Special discounts may be available for long-term stays. Room prices include 24-hour reception service, continental breakfast, Internet and mail access, WI-FI internet, daily room service, cable TV, heat and air conditioning, luggage storage, welcome drink, and a free subway pass. A self-proclaimed pop hotel, Boquitas Pintadas is named after a novel by the same name by Manuel Puig, one of Argentina’s most famous gay writers. It features a library of the writer’s work, and hosts art exhibits, film cycles, and other cultural events. The hotel is known for its unique kitschy décor, which changes every three months. Attached to the hotel are the cocktail lounge and the Café Boquitas Pintadas. The house is located in the historical Montserrat neighborhood of Buenos Aires, and is walking distance from both San Telmo – historic neighborhood known for its architecture, as well as its antique stores and weekend fairs – and the center of the city. The area is serviced by both the city’s subway and buses.
Room rates include a private bathroom, air conditioning, cable TV and video, telephone, Internet connection, swimming pool, balcony and terrace access, breakfast in Café Boquitas Pintadas, and tourist information. Also available is a safe for valuables. A discount of 25% is given when any one of the double rooms is used as a single.
