Visas
Visas are not required for tourists from Andorra, Argentina, Austria, Bahamas, Barbados, Belgium, Bermuda, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Denmark, Ecuador, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Monaco, Morocco, Namibia, the Netherlands, Norway, Paraguay, Peru, Philippines, Portugal, San Marino, South Africa, Spain, Suriname, Sweden, Switzerland, Trinidad, Tobago, UK, Uruguay, the Vatican and Venezuela.
Venezuelan passport holders can stay in Brazil for 60 days on the completion of a form at the border. For the countries above, travelers must have a passport valid for at least six months or a cédula de identidad for citizens of Argentina, Chile, Paraguay, and Uruguay, a return or onward ticket or proof that you are able to purchase your return fare. Tourists may stay for a maximum of 180 days in one year.
You must always have some type of identification which may be a photocopy of your passport authorized in a Cartório or your actual documents. Keep some copies for yourself as well. You may want to register with your consulate to expedite document replacement if yours is lost or stolen during your stay.
You should be vaccinated against typhoid, polio, tetanus, and hepatitis A. Poliomyelitis vaccination is required for children from three months to six years. Proof of vaccination against yellow fever is necessary if you are visiting Amazônia and the Centre West.
