Public holidays are as follows:
January 1 – New Year’s Day
February 23 – Republic Day and Mashramani festival
April – Good Friday, Easter Monday
May 1 – Labor Day
May 26 – Independence Day
First Monday in July – Caricom Day
First Monday in August – Freedom Day
December 25 – Christmas Day
December 26 – Boxing Day
Hindu and Muslim festivals follow a lunar calendar, and dates should be checked as required: Phagwah is usually in March; Eid el Fitr is around the end of Ramadan, Eid el Azah, Youm un Nabi, Deepavali is usually in November.
