Where: The New Year 2010 festivities in Cusco, Plaza de Armas

When: Midnight

Equipment Used: Shot on a Canon EOS 500d, on a large tripod

Comments: I was worried about the thousands of people, but I was given special permission from the police to stand on the grass area, so I was out the way. I took several long exposures to capture the fireworks. Of course, that made me a bit of a target for the pranksters throwing bangers, but I only had two very loud and very close bangs!
