SAE Member: Mary Henn-Lecordier

Our members are interesting people, and they do interesting things. Each edition we make (well, ask nicely) one of our intrepid members to tell us about themselves and what they are doing. This month, lucky Mary Henn-Lecordier who was found relaxing at the Buenos Aires clubhouse, was chosen to bare her soul.

Where did you arrive from?  I just flew in from Cusco, Peru

Where is the best place you have travelled in South America? The Sacred Valley just outside Cusco, with its incredibly gorgeous mountain views sprinkled with ruins and hot springs. You can’t beat that!

What has been the best meal you have eaten on your trip? Escabeche chicken with cold marinated vegetables in Peru.

What is the one thing you always make sure you have when you set off on a trip? A Spanish dictionary when in South America! Definitely.

What is the best advice you can give about travelling in South America? Women should be careful about how they act with members of the opposite sex.  Sometimes friendliness can be taken the wrong way, so just be careful!

In your opinion, what is the best thing about South American Explorers? I love the resources and being able to treat the clubs like a ‘home base’ for meeting people. Without it, you don’t have anywhere else to go!!!
