The Quito clubhouse staff will:
- Offer
help with all problems or emergencies
- Store
equipment and valuables.
- Hold
and forward mail for members, receive faxes, and telephone
messages (sorry, not actual phone calls)
- Receive
e-mail messages: To email members at the Quito Clubhouse,
put member's FULL NAME in the subject field and
send email to quitoclub@saexplorers.org.
Please don't send any attachments!
- Help
members find traveling companions.
The
Quito clubhouse also:
- Collects,
and keeps on hand all sorts of information on hotels throughout
Ecuador, Spanish classes, recommended mountain and jungle
guides, discount travel opportunities, homestays, outfitters,
volunteer opportunities, travel companions etc. etc.
- Has
on file hundreds of Trip Reports on just about every subject
of interest to members -- kayaking, beetle collecting,
rock climbing, restaurants, child adoption, Galapagos
boats, hiking trails etc. etc.
- Runs
a book exchange.

Facilitates weekly walkabouts.
- Has
a bulletin board where Members can post notices, or look
for companions; find info about discounts with local outfitters,
schools, apartments, travel tips etc.
- Keeps
an updated list of recommended home stays, English-speaking
doctors, vegetarian restaurants, nonprofit organizations
and so on.
- Is
a good place to meet people, compare notes with other
travelers, and get reliable information.
